Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing Prestons of Bolton. These terms and conditions govern any transactions between you and Prestons of Bolton. We ask you to read these terms carefully as they form part of an integral part of the legal contract between yourself and Prestons of Bolton.

 The terms and conditions are as follows;

  • By completing and submitting our application form to us to purchase your goods, you are confirming that you are aged 18 or above and that you are the sole owner of the goods you wish to sell.

  • After you have submitted the application form we will send you a pack explaining the steps which you need to take and the process for returning your goods.

  • At the time the goods are posted risk of the goods shall pass to Prestons of Bolton. If the pack is lost or stolen prior to receipt by Prestons of Bolton we shall submit a claim on your behalf against Royal Mail. The maximum insured claim liability is £500.

  • Prestons of Bolton reserves the right to reject any delivery of any package which appears to be tampered with, opened or damaged, we will use all reasonable endeavours to advise you of this upon receipt and such items will be returned to you without further liability to Prestons of Bolton.

  • Prestons of Bolton will not be liable for any loss of profit, time or consequential damages of any kind.

  • Certain steps will be followed prior to an offer of a purchase being made to you these are described as follows

  1. On receipt by us of a completed pack and where we decide to make an offer to you we will assess the value of the goods and contact you either by phone, email or text. We will only send a payment to a UK address and will not pay any UK household any more than £7,500 in any 12 month period.

  2. The price we quote will constitute our offer to purchase your goods and you are reminded that by submitting your application form that you have agreed to these terms and conditions (or any change there to as posted on our website) If you do not wish to be bound by these terms then you should not complete our application form.

  3. These terms require that if you change your mind then you must advise us by calling 01204552561 within 7 days of accepting our offer and return the cheque, failure to do so will result in the title in the goods passing to Prestons of Bolton and the goods being processed. Once processed the goods cannot be recovered.

  4. You agree that to undertake a valuation a scraping will be required from the goods in order to determine the gold carat, we will not have to compensate you for this, nor make any good any damage which may be caused when scraping the goods for the valuation.

  5. We are under no obligation to make an offer to you and if we discover that the goods have no re-sale value and we have notified you that this is the case then we shall reserve the right to dispose of the goods at our discretion without payment or recompose to you.

  6. After 7 days of formally accepting our offer to purchase the goods title of the goods shall pass to Prestons of Bolton and the goods will not be returned to you.

  • You will warrant to Prestons of Bolton that you have;

  1. Sole ownership of the goods

  2. Good and marketable title to the goods

  3. Full authority to sell and transfer the goods

  4. The goods are sold free from all liens and encumbrances, adverse claims and liabilities

  5. The goods are not from a result of any illegal activities in any country

  6. You are 18 years of age or older

  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prestons of Bolton (and any successor in title to us) against any and all liability, suits, losses claims and legal fees, caused by, arising out of, or resulting from any breach or alleged breach of these terms including claims brought by any third party.

  • The terms and conditions may be changed from time to time and the terms and conditions (as amended) shall be at all times available on our website. We recommend you visit our website periodically to ensure you are aware of our current terms and conditions. You should check our terms and conditions prior to entering into any contract with us.
